Fixes
October 2026 · closed testing
Stability and small-screen fixes — no new features, no changes to your files.
Fixed
- Crashes when creating a note, playing audio, choosing or opening a vault folder, and reading recordings during a rescan.
- Audio recordings no longer crash on a deleted file, and recording numbers now stay consistent across the app.
- Archive import confirms success, rejects ZIPs that aren't a vault, and never leaves a partial import.
- Phones: the quick colour palette, the pen-thickness preview and the note paper now work correctly on small screens.
- Small-screen layout for Trash, Inbox, the date calendars and the note-details dialog.
- Onboarding now shows the current app icon; auto-created course names follow your app language.

First release
October 2026
The first public build of Quillary — a handwriting notebook built for studying, keeping your notes as files in a folder you own.
What it does
- Handwriting editor — pen, marker, eraser, lasso, ruler and shapes on an A4 page with zoom and pan, and choose your paper style.
- Study Workspace — open a PDF beside your note and write without losing context.
- Searchable handwriting — on-device recognition makes your notes searchable; corrections teach it.
- Flashcards & review — turn part of a note into a flashcard and revisit it with spaced repetition.
- Audio tied to your ink — record while you write, then tap the ink to hear that moment.
- Organize for study — subjects, courses, labs and seminars, grouped by semester, with exam-date countdowns.
- Import & export — bring in PDFs and photos, and export a note to PDF.
- Study report — see how much you studied, by subject and over time.
- Your files — notes live as real files in a vault folder you choose, with optional backup to a cloud folder you pick. No account, no required cloud.
